First Spouse Coin Sales Figures logoRemarkably, collectors scooped up nearly twice as many First Spouse Gold Coins in the latest round of weekly sales than previously. Half of the coins leaped with triple digit gains, according to the United States Mint statistics.

In all, 759 coins sold compared to 381. The split was fairly close between proofs and uncirculated, 405 and 354 respectively.

First Spouse Coin Sales Figures logoIt has been one week since the US Mint stopped selling Buchanan’s Liberty First Spouse Proof Coins, but instead of seeing big numbers in the most recent United States Mint data to explain why they "sold out," their total dropped back -3. It went from 7,317 down to 7,314.

In the meantime, Buchanan’s uncirculated Liberty coins surged by 113. Perhaps the proof’s unavailability spurred the sales. The new total for the uncirculated moved up to 4,574. Altogether, 11,888 of the published 15,000 maximum mintage for the Liberty design have been purchased. [click to continue…]

First Spouse Coin Sales Figures logoThe US Mint stopped selling James Buchanan’s Liberty First Spouse Proof Coins earlier this week, even though their latest sales total was 7,317 as of Sunday.

Only 4,461 of the uncirculated version had sold by Sunday, which means the combined total for both of the proof and uncirculated Buchanan’s Liberty First Spouse Gold Coins was 11,778, or 78% of the maximum 15,000 mintage the US Mint had first announced. [click to continue…]

First Spouse Coin Sales Figures logoUS Mint sales figures revealed a loss in demand for First Spouse Gold Coins even though prices dropped by $25 last Wednesday, January 26. Overall, 274 coins sold, compared to 437 in the previous week. Mary Lincoln proof coins returned to the top spot and her companion Presidential Dollar and First Spouse Medal Set continued its leading streak.

It had been a few weeks since the Mary Lincoln First Spouse Coins had the highest weekly sales, since all of the attention had been going to Buchanan’s Liberty coins recently. In this round, her proofs climbed by 89. Buchanan’s proof version tied for second place with Lincoln’s uncirculated. Each had 43 in sales. First Spouse Coin Sales Figures logoThe latest First Spouse Coin news starts with two major developments, prices dropped today for United States Mint gold coins, and Buchanan’s Liberty First Spouse coin sales lead the pack.

Each First Spouse coin has lowered in price by $25. Proof versions went from $854.00 to $829.00, and the uncirculated ones changed from $841.00 to $816.00. The new price updates took affect late this morning, on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. First Spouse Coin Sales Figures logoSales certainly slowed for First Spouse Gold Coins and their companion Presidential $1 and First Spouse Medal Sets in the latest round of United States Mint sales figures. Buchanan’s Proof Liberty First Spouse coin beat both of Mary Lincoln’s gold coins combined. In all, the US Mint sold 262 coins versus 601 in the prior report.

Buchanan’s Proof Liberty leaped by 103. It was the only one in triple digits. The next closest was Mary Lincoln’s uncirculated version with a gain of 43. The third top seller was Jane Pierce’s Proof, which moved by 40. [click to continue…]

Abigail Fillmore and Buchanan’s Liberty gold coins both beat out Mary Lincoln’s proof for the top spots.

First Spouse Coin Sales Figures logoOne of the top sellers in the most recent United States Mint sales figures was the Abraham Lincoln Presidential $1 and First Spouse Medal Set, for the second week in a row. 3,753 sold in the first few days and another 3,694 flew off Mint shelves this past week. The total came to 7,447, a most impressive start.

The other available Presidential $1 and First Spouse Medal Sets also climbed higher. Buchanan’s set added 210, Pierce’s set rose by 133, and Fillmore’s set advanced 118. Fillmore’s total crossed the 9,000 marker and sits at 9,063. [click to continue…]

First Spouse Coin Sales Figures logoFresh United States Mint sales figures revealed another great week for the new Mary Todd Lincoln First Spouse Gold Coins. A sum of 1,021 proof and uncirculated versions shipped to collectors. Broken down, 701 were proofs and 320 were uncirculated.
