Lincoln Medal Set Tops Sales

One of the top sellers in the most recent United States Mint sales figures was the Abraham Lincoln Presidential $1 and First Spouse Medal Set, for the second week in a row. 3,753 sold in the first few days and another 3,694 flew off Mint shelves this past week. The total came to 7,447, a most impressive start.

The other available Presidential $1 and First Spouse Medal Sets also climbed higher. Buchanan’s set added 210, Pierce’s set rose by 133, and Fillmore’s set advanced 118. Fillmore’s total crossed the 9,000 marker and sits at 9,063.

A combined total of 4,155 sets were picked up compared to 4,434 before, which is hardly a slow down after a popular product launch.

As for the 24 karat First Spouse gold coins, the proof Mary Todd Lincoln Gold Coin leapt the most. Collectors picked up 124 of them, as well as 91 of Buchanan’s Proof Liberty. Mary Todd Lincoln’s uncirculated coin recovered its negative 17 loss in the previous round by adding 59 this time.

In all, 393 First Spouse coins sold compared to 156 previously.
