The Mary Todd Lincoln coins were released on Thursday, December 2. Their four-day debuting sales (reported lasted week) came in at 5,505.
James Buchanan’s Liberty 24 karat gold coins were the next favorite on collectors’ shipping lists with 35 proof and 31 uncirculated. Buchanan’s First Spouse coin total amounted to 10,702 out of a mintage limit of 15,000 across all options.
Very few Presidential $1 and First Spouse Medal Sets were picked up in this round. According to the Mint’s report, only 55 were sold, and all of them were the Millard and Abigail Fillmore sets. None of the popular Buchanan or Pierce sets moved. And, for the second time, the Taylor and Polk sets stayed the same.
As a reminder, 3:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, December 30 is the cut off for the James and Sarah Polk as well as the Zachary and Margaret Taylor Presidential $1 and First Spouse Medal Sets.
