The Julia Grant First Spouse Gold Coins launched Thursday, June 23, with stronger numbers than the previous Eliza release. Four days after their release 1,581 proofs and 1,017 uncirculated sold. In this round, collectors picked up 451 and 311 proof and uncirculated Grant coins.
The remaining older coins pulled off double digit gains per the US Mint’s report, and the Eliza Johnson proof coin led with 66. It was followed by the Mary Lincoln proof issue, which increased by 48. In last place, the Eliza Johnson uncirculated strike rose by 44.
Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Sets continued to chug forward with the Johnson set in first place with 264 selling to collectors. Lincoln’s set added 49 and Buchanan’s set climbed by 27. The last two sets tied after rising by 20 each.
