First Spouse Coin Sales Figures logoFirst Spouse Gold Coin sales were down this week, by more than half of last week’s performance in fact, according to the latest US Mint sales figures. The total added was 193, compared to the prior 507. Only one of the ten available 24-karat coins experienced a better-than-before sales improvement.

That was the Anna Harrison proof coin. It jumped by 56, beating last week’s increase of 33. Its total sales are now 6,239, but it has 1,276 more to go – an unlikely feat – in order to reach the same level as the 2008 Van Buren Liberty Proof.

On the other end of the spectrum, the uncirculated Margaret Taylor gold piece picked up only 4 this time, which was drastically down compared to its prior gain of 72.

Anticipation is growing for the Abigail Fillmore First Spouse Coins, set to launch sometime this month. It will be the first of four new 2010 First Spouse Coins this year. So far, there has not been any announcement from the US Mint. But with the new release right around the corner, the buying days are numbered for Anna Harrison coins.

The following tables compare the prior to most recent US Mint sales data:
