First Spouse Coin Sales Retreat, Jackson’s Spike

First Spouse Gold Coin sales mostly declined with only three of the nine U.S. Mint gold commemoratives showing improvements compared to the prior report.

As mentioned last week, when the proof Andrew Jackson Liberty’s First Spouse Coin was taken off sale by the U.S. Mint, the uncirculated version received more attention. That resulted in a spike in sales of 261 compared the the prior weekly gain of 34. The total uncirculated sold thus far is 4,754.

The biggest seller is still the newly offered Julia Tyler Proof gold piece. Collectors purchased 333 of them, bringing the total to 2,420 coins in the first 18 days.
