2009 First Spouse Bronze Five Medal SetCoinciding with the availability of the Margaret Taylor Gold Coins on December 3, 2009, the US Mint also released the 2009 First Spouse Bronze Medal Series: Five-Medal Set.

Each set contains five medals struck from bronze with the likeness of the First Spouse gold coins that were issued throughout the year. The medals come packaged in Mylar® which is inserted into a product information containing folded card with a custom-made envelope.

All of the medals are struck at the Mint’s facility in Philadelphia (no mintmark is present) to a diameter of 1 5/16 inches. The set sells for $15.95 or individual medals may also be purchased for $3.50 a piece. A shipping charge of $4.95 per order applies.

James K. Polk & Sarah Polk Presidential Dollar & First Spouse Medal SetThe US Mint released the latest Presidential Dollar and First Spouse Set featuring James K. Polk on a uncirculated $1 and Sarah Polk on a bronze medal.

The Mint issued the set on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, for $8.95. It includes the $1 and medal within a plastic card that bears the pairs portrait with information on the back.

The set is the fourth for 2009 and the twelfth in a very popular collector series that honors both former Presidents and First Ladies. [click to continue…]

John and Letitia Tyler Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal SetJohn and Letitia Tyler Presidential $1 Coin and First Spouse Medal Sets will launch Tuesday, July 14, the US Mint has announced.

The set is to be released at noon ET for the price of $8.95, and includes an uncirculated dollar featuring John Tyler and a bronze medal bearing a likeness to the Letitia Tyler First Spouse Gold Coin. The set is the second for 2009 and the tenth in a very popular collector series that honors both former Presidents and First Ladies.

The obverse or heads side of the $1 coin, designed and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill, bears an image of John Tyler with the inscriptions "John Tyler", "In God We Trust", "10th President" and "1841-1845." [click to continue…]

Harrison Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal SetThe US Mint on Tuesday launched the William Henry Harrison Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Set for $8.95, plus shipping and handling. The set is the first for 2009 and the ninth released in a series that honors both former Presidents and First Ladies.

The set includes an uncirculated dollar featuring Harrison and a bronze medal bearing a likeness to the Anna Harrison First Spouse Gold Coin.

The obverse or heads side of the coin, designed and sculpted by Joseph Menna., bears an image of William Henry Harrison with the inscriptions "William Henry Harrison", "In God We Trust", "9th President" and "1841." [click to continue…]

Anna Harrison First Spouse MedalThe United States Mint placed the Anna Harrison Bronze Medal on sale Thursday, March 19. Like the other medals that replicate the First Spouse Coins series, pricing is set at $3.50.

The 1 5/16 inch medal bears the same likeness as the Anna Harrison First Spouse Gold Coins that were released March 5.

The obverse or heads side of the medal features the portrait of Anna Harrison, the wife of the ninth U.S. President, William Henry Harrison. It was designed by Donna Weaver and sculpted by Joseph Menna. [click to continue…]
