Overall totals had been 539 and 683 in recent weeks, but Buchanan’s Liberty coin sales went from triple digit increases down to single and double digit movements these last two weeks.
In this round, the Liberty coins took back the top two spots from last week’s winners, Jane Pierce and Abigail Fillmore proofs. 34 Buchanan proofs and 27 Buchanan uncirculated sold, and the next closest popular lady coin was Margaret Taylor’s proof with 17.
The Mint added both Margaret Taylor’s proof and uncirculated coins to their "Last Opportunity Sale" that started this week. They will be on sale until 12 noon (ET) December 2, 2010. That will be the time when the new Lincoln First Spouse Gold coins debut.
Two Presidential $1 and First Spouse Medal Sets were also given a deadline. The Polk Set and the Taylor Set will be removed at 3 PM (ET) on December 30, 2010.
