The four 2008 First Spouse Gold Coins were the second set of commemoratives released by the United States Mint to honor U.S. First Spouses and feature their images. (The first set was the 2007 First Spouse Coins that launched the First Spouse Program and portray Martha Washington, Abigail Adams, Jefferson’s Liberty and Dolly Madison.)
To supplement First Spouse Coins, new pages have been added that describe the coins and each First Lady commemorated in 2008.
The pages include coin information, coin design details, spouse biographies, links to large images of the coins and medals, and additional resource information.
Pages for each 2009 coin will be added when the when they are released by the United States Mint. (There will be at least four new designs each year, with release dates scheduled through to 2016.
