The US Mint sold 1,824 proofs and 1,057 uncirculated. Together, collectors took 2,881 of the new coins and made this the best launch in a long time. It was higher than the last four launches, which were 2,839 (MT), 2,605 (SP), 2,369 (JT), and 2,873 (LT).
The other First Spouse coins managed double digit increases with all but one of the offerings seeing an improvement over last week. Although the Margaret Taylor proofs added 32, it was lower than the prior week’s 39. The next most desired and fourth place weekly winner was the Letitia Tyler proofs at 31.
2009 dated Anna Harrison coins were unchanged at 6,250 proofs and 3,537 uncirculated. The Mint pulled the coins from store shelves with the release of the Abigail Fillmore coins. It is unlikely the Harrison numbers will change next week, making them the lowest final numbers of the series.
